A week in the life & frugal outfits

Last week I was back at work after two weeks off. I’m fortunate to have time off over the holidays and the return was a fairly smooth one. What I was not as prepared for was the busy pace our life assumes when everyone is going full-throttle towards school, daycare, work, and extra-curricular activities.

Monday, Graydon had basketball practice, Tuesday we had a date night, Wednesday was dinner at church, Thursday was my much needed “night off” from parenting (I wrote at Panera), and Friday we had dinner with family.

One thing that made work extra enjoyable this week was debuting some new frugal purchases. On my birthday I did some thrift store shopping and for just over $100 came home with three pairs of pants, a skirt, eight tops, a dress, and two pairs of boots.

A thrift store sweater that I first wore to a friend’s wedding in December.
My December wedding attire.
Leather Nine West boots that I scored for just $2 (!!) at one of my favorite thrift stores.
A new sweater from TJ Maxx that I wore with new Toms boots, a birthday gift from my mama – thanks mom!
A sweater I’ve had for over two years but still love just as much as when I first bought it, on clearance, of course!

Another thing that brought me joy this week: the amazing sunsets that guided me home after work each night.

Off to enjoy this snowy Sunday. On the docket: cleaning out the playroom, meal prep, and family time.
